Summary
We are looking for a Sr. Project Manager specializing in Industrial Automation to join a people-first contractor with decades of experience delivering complex building systems and technology solutions.
This senior leadership role oversees the delivery of complex industrial automation projects from design through commissioning, while serving as a trusted client partner. The position combines technical depth, project and financial oversight, business development support, and people leadership, with a strong focus on long-term client relationships, cross-functional collaboration, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage industrial automation projects from design through turnover and owner training
Serve as primary client contact during project execution and ensure overall client satisfaction
Develop automation solutions including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, sequences of operations, and engineering documentation
Partner with engineering, field, and operations teams to deliver technically sound, profitable projects
Support estimating, solution development, and proposal reviews to ensure deliverability
Drive relationship growth, identify new opportunities, and support business development efforts
Oversee project financials, scheduling coordination, risk management, and documentation
Mentor, coach, and develop project managers and engineering staff
Stay current on automation technologies, tools, and industry best practices
Requirements
10+ years of experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems in industrial automation environments
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred
5+ years of experience managing and estimating automation projects
Strong understanding of automation system design, construction methods, and cost controls
Proven ability to lead teams, manage risk, and deliver profitable projects
Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
Ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and business teams
Valid driver’s license and ability to work in office and industrial environments
