    • Lead detailed system designs, including site plans, SLDs, conduit schedules, and interconnection packages.

    • Use tools like PVSyst, Helioscope, HOMER, and SAM for modeling and performance estimates.

    • Ensure designs meet NEC, CEC, UL, IEEE, and utility standards.

    • Coordinate with project managers, utilities, permitting authorities, and construction teams.

    • Support permitting, interconnection, and commissioning activities.

    • Set and refine internal CAD standards; oversee drafting workflows.

    • Drive continuous improvement of design templates and engineering processes.

    Required Qualifications

    • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.

    • 5+ years of experience designing solar PV and energy storage systems.

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSyst, and one-line diagram development.

    • Familiarity with DC/AC coupled systems and energy storage integration (Tesla, Fluence, PCS, etc.).

    • Strong knowledge of NEC 690/705/706, UL 1741-SA, IEEE 1547.

    • Experience with IOU interconnection processes (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, etc.).

    • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

    • EIT or NABCEP certification a plus.

    • 1+ year of team leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
