Hansen Talent Group is hiring a Sr Systems Programmer to work with a large enterprise in Columbia, SC. This is a hybrid opportunity requiring 2-3 days/week onsite.

What you'll do:

• Write or debug programs to maintain and control computer systems software, such as operating systems, networked systems, and database systems.
• Provide technical and disaster recovery expertise for systems software.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
• Strong understanding of systems programming, graphical user interfaces, control languages, development, quality assurance, and implementation strategies of systems software.
• Thorough understanding of currently utilized systems programming productivity tools and their use.
• Ability to review and analyze systems software and recommend performance solutions.
• Experience with JCL, Mainframe/host, IBM z/OS MQ mainframe
• Experience creating/maintaining a queue manager and queues – required - this requirement is VERY important
