POSITION PURPOSE
St. Al’s ELC is seeking experienced teachers to join our team in our Infant and Toddler rooms. Successful candidates will love working with children, be reliable, organized, and eagerly collaborate in creating a positive community environment at St. Aloysius Catholic School/Early Learning Center.
Support for our teachers is important at the St. Al’s ELC and we provide an engaging curriculum, professional development opportunities, and updated facilities that enhance learning and well-being.
Teachers are expected to act as positive role models to other teachers, students and families and are actively engaged with co-workers and students during their work time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Model appropriate and preferred methods for interactions with children and families.
- Model behavior that represents the core moral and ethical values of the St. Aloysius ELC.
- Foster and encourage neatness and manners in themselves, their Co-teachers/Aides and the children in their care.
- Support the Supervisor/Administrator in daily work.
- Adhere to the dress and hygiene code.
- Attend bi-monthly staff meetings.
- Reliably attend work on scheduled shifts and on time. All absences need to be pre-arranged with the Administrator.
- Participate in all trainings as required by Administrator.
- Meet ELC Professional Conduct Standards.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THESE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma.
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Attend Diocesan New Employee Orientation — including Blood Borne Pathogen Training, Protecting God’s Children Training and Code of Conduct.
- Register with DCYF’s MERIT system, including a Portable Background Check with fingerprinting.
- Complete 30 hours of Basic STARS training (or COVID-19 Temporary, which is valid until June 2022) and take at least 10 hours of training each year.
- Complete Infant Safe Sleep training.
- Obtain a Food Handler’s Permit.
- Obtain CPR First Aide Certification with pediatric Plus Endorsement.
- Renew necessary certifications on time: Portable Background Check every three years, Food Handler’s Permit every two years, Pediatric Plus CPR/First Aid every two years, Safe Sleep every year, and certain Diocesan training every year.
- Sign waiver or obtain vaccines for Hepatitis B.
- Must complete a tuberculosis test.
- Provide proof of MMR vaccine.
- Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine or exemption.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
- Frequently lift up to 30 pounds, must be able to lift and carry a maximum of 40 pounds.
- Walk and stand unaided.
- Walk back and forth several times per shift from between classrooms, storage areas, common spaces.
- Pull/push, carry, grasp, reach.
- Sit, rock and securely hold infants on the floor and in a rocking chair.
- Stand up from a sitting position while holding an infant.
- Occasionally crawl, stoop, kneel.
- Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors (no color blindness), ability to focus.

Ratio of Lead Teacher to preschool: 1/10
