    Job Description

    The St. Clair County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is currently seeking an Administrative Coordinator. The person will provide coordination in the office, accounting skills, as well as working closely with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service.

    Qualified applicants should possess strong written, verbal and organizational skills. Applicants should be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and be self-motivated. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Job duties will include but not be limited to providing information to landowners, including education on soil, water, plant, animal and other resources. The incumbent will be expected to prepare reports for the District. Other duties will include entering payroll, balancing accounts, preparing a budget, running computer programs involving mapping, soil type determination and conservation planning.

    St. Clair County Soil and Water Conservation District is a county government organization. Our funding comes primarily from the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Additional funding is supplied by the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and St. Clair County. The Board of Directors is the decision makers for the organization, but day to day direction is often provided by the USDA NRCS District Conservationist.
