    Job Description

    The historic St. James Hotel is seeking a passionate and experienced Rooms Manager to join our leadership team. In this role, you’ll oversee daily operations of the Housekeeping, Public Space, and Laundry departments to ensure a seamless guest experience and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and service.     What You’ll Do

    • Lead and support the Rooms Division teams (Housekeeping, Public Space, Laundry).
    • Ensure guest satisfaction through leadership presence, hands-on support, and staff training.
    • Recruit, hire, train, and coach team members while managing schedules and performance.
    • Monitor guest feedback, resolve issues, and take action to deliver exceptional stays.
    • Partner with the GM and sales/marketing team to optimize occupancy and revenue.
    • Manage departmental budgets, payroll, supplies, and operational expenses.
    • Collaborate across departments to ensure rooms are clean, guest-ready, and tailored to preferences.
    • Enforce hotel policies, safety procedures, and cleanliness standards.
  • Qualifications

    What We’re Looking For

    • 3–5 years of hotel operations experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role (Front Desk or Housekeeping preferred).
    • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Property Management Systems.
    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
    • Commitment to professionalism, guest service, and teamwork.

    Bonus Qualifications

    • Experience with process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
    • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills.
    • Familiarity with Online Travel Agents (OTA) and revenue management tools.
    • Experience working with diverse teams and guests.

    Additional Requirements

    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
    • CHI and DOT Certification preferred.
