    Title: Director of Assessment and Accreditation


    Administrative Structure

    The individual is an administrator in the Office of the Dean, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and will report to the Executive Director of Assessment.

    Position Overview

    Under the direction of the Executive Director of Assessment and Accreditation, this position will direct assessment efforts and manage day-to-day operations in the College's Office of Assessment and Accreditation. This person will also collaborate and support programmatic accreditation. The Director for Assessment and Accreditation is responsible for design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of college and program assessment.

    Responsibilities

    • Direct the daily operations of the Office of Assessment

    • Coordinates the collection, and analysis of data related to the continuous quality improvement and assessment cycle of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

    • Prepare high-impact and influential assessment reports to drive improvement

    • Design surveys and perform quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis i. e. curriculum and program effectiveness, student success, learning outcomes

    • Direct and coordinate on-going efforts to improve assessment data gathering, reporting and the wider use of college assessment management and data tools to support college planning, evaluation, operations and decision-making

    • Partner with faculty in the design and execution of surveys and other evaluation instruments for use in faculty-led assessment initiatives and effectiveness evaluation projects

    • Collaborate with departments and academic programs in planning and conducting assessments of student learning, goals and outcomes for both internal and external purposes

    • Provide needed assistance to related committees and directors, with the planning and coordination of data for accreditation reporting and continuous improvement of academic programs

    • Prepare and present high-impact and influential assessment reports

    • Direct the operations and maintenance of all assessment-related software and data systems

    • Assist the Executive Director of Assessment in assessment and accreditation efforts for all academic programs within the college

    • Promoting an college-wide culture of assessment

    • Manage and supervise graduate assistants and graduate student workers in the Office of Assessment and Accreditation.

    • Facilitate the Office of Assessment's ongoing research and publishing

    • Assist and train administrative staff in the use of University data systems, data analysis software and analysis.

    • Member of college/university committees as appointed

    • Some evening and weekend work may be required for special programs and events

    • Special projects as assigned by the Dean or their designee(s)

    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Graduate degree in relevant field (i.e. data science, data analytics, curriculum or instructional design, applied mathematics, statistics, or other relevant area

    • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in higher education assessment; educational outcomes or assessment experience preferred.

    • Strong ability to collect, analyze, and present data in a cohesive manner to drive data informed recommendations.

    • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; Power BI preferred

    • Knowledge and experience with survey systems (Qualtrics, Survey Monkey) and statistical methodology and software (i.e. SPSS).

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    • Strong organizational and project management skills

    • Experience with academic accreditation processes, preferred

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual/hourly salary range for this position is $87,900 - $92,000 . St. John’s University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

    This position may be relocated to any of St. John’s University’s physical locations at any time.
