PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position will be responsible for the overall financial accountability of assigned locations in the North America region.  In this role, will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to and implementation of financial policies and procedures.  A proven self-starter, this candidate ideally has demonstrated experience in a similar role with a global, multi‐site manufacturing company.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Complete month end closings and submit financial reporting to Controller and other personnel in North America headquarters.
• Ensure the monthly account reconciliation 
• Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
• Coordinating and preparing internal financial statements
• Coordinating activities of external auditors
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
• Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
• Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
• Assist in the performance of financial analysis regarding business performance, with the overall objective of providing assistance and guidance to General Managers within assigned locations.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree (Accounting or Finance), from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 8 years' of experience in a similar role, with supervisory and/or management
• JDE application financials and related modules preferred
• Experience in a large or similar public company preferred
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
• Must be able to work in a fast‐paced, detail‐oriented and confidential
• Must be able to travel up to 10%

PREFERRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

• Prior experience in the fresh produce/food industry preferred
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

TRAINED ASSEMBLERS WITH LEADERSHIP ABILITY ARE ELIGIBLE TO BE SELECTED FOR PROMOTION TO LINE LEAD POSITIONS AND WILL PERFORM THE DUTIES AS DETAILED ABOVE, AND WILL IN ADDITION FULFILL THE ROLE OF TEAM LEADER FOR THEIR LINE, RESPONSIBLE FOR IMMEDIATE SUPERVISION OF TEAM MEMBERS, DELEGATION OF TASKS AND ADDITIONAL REPORTING DUTIES.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Able to stand for extended periods of time; shift duration 8 to 10 hours
2. Able to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis
3. Able to work weekend and overtime hours as needed
4. Accurate counting and basic math skills
5. Manual dexterity for fine finger manipulations
6. Attention to detail
