    TEMPORARY PART-TIME FILE REVIEWER

    SCHOOL OF LAW

     

    Reports to: Assistant Dean for Admissions & Recruitment

     

    Campus: Queens

     

    Job Summary:

    The Temporary Part-time File Reviewer will report to the Assistant Dean for Admissions & Recruitment/Senior Director of Admissions and focus on reviewing and making recommendations on law school applications. The File Reviewer will read and evaluate the CAS Law School report, including analyzing undergraduate and graduate transcripts, reviewing letters of recommendation, and LSAT scores. The File Reviewer will review the e-application, focusing on personal statements, optional statements, character & fitness issues, resume/work experience, writing ability, and other general indicators for success in law school. The File Reviewer will compose a paragraph of notes for each application and utilize past benchmarks and sound judgement in making admission recommendations.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and make recommendations on the applicant pool (up to 20 hours/week).
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. or higher education preferred.
    • Two (2) years admissions or law experience, strong oral and written communication skills.
    • The ability to handle a large application volume, review applications timely, and write clear notes.
    • Confidentiality and sound judgement are required.
    • Access to the web; this position can be performed entirely remotely.
    • Experience with ACES2 and Excel is a plus.
