Division/Department Information
The Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance, and Actuarial Science in the Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position at the rank of instructor, to begin in Fall 2023. This position will be a one-year contract position, that may be renewable. Approximately 3,000 students are enrolled in the Tobin College of Business – 2,400 undergraduates and 600 graduate students. Together they represent 36 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and 75 foreign countries. The Tobin College of Business has AACSB accreditation. The Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science of the Tobin College of Business of St. John’s University invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level starting in Fall 2023.
The Greenberg School offers the following degrees: B.S. in Actuarial Science, B.S. in Risk Management and Insurance (RMI), M.S. in Actuarial Science, M.S. in Enterprise Risk Management, M.S. in Risk Management and Risk Analytics, MBA concentration in RMI, and MBA concentration in ERM.

Responsibilities
The position entails a four-course teaching load per semester; candidates can expect to teach in person, with the possibility of online and hybrid courses. Excellence in teaching is essential, as are service activities. There is a 4-4 teaching load. Service activities include the following:

Qualifications
Candidates should have a bachelors degree, professional experience in the insurance industry, and relevant teaching experience. Experience teaching courses in the principles of risk management and in employee benefits are a plus.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000.
