Job Summary:
The Office of Donor Relations is tasked to foster high-quality communications and interactions with donors to St. John’s University, to enhance the donor experience, engagement, and investment, resulting from the donors’ philanthropic support of the University. This position reports to the Director, Office of Donor Relations. The employee in this position performs a variety of administrative tasks to ensure efficient and smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Essential Functions:
Competencies
High School Diploma (or GED equivalent). Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent written, oral and people skills required. Knowledge of Banner a plus, but not required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position includes supervisory of student workers in the Office of Donor relations.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment; This position is required to use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copiers etc.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift and move office supplies when necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; move about for events; sit; to carry work and use controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 15 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the employee include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, etc.
Environmental Conditions
Standard office work environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is part-time (min. 20hrs/week); days and hours are to be scheduled during the work week from Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The position does not offer overtime. (Weekend or evening hours may apply if hosting a Donor Event)
Travel
Some travel may be required if hosting a donor event off campus.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma (or GED equivalent).
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience working in an office environment preferred.
