    **Job Summary: **

    The Assistant Director of Physical Security Systems and Project Management reports to the Director of Physical Security Systems and Human Services Operations and oversees functionality of all critical security systems and projects across all University campuses. The Asst. Director of Physical Security Systems will manage the Technical Support Specialist, the PS Safety Systems Analyst and Payroll Analyst and the Graduate Assistant and student workers on special assignment to the physical security team.

    **Essential Functions: **

    Assist in Developing Short/Long Term Physical Security Roadmap: Continuously assesses the physical security program (inclusive of the parking program) across all University campuses with the objective of identifying weaknesses, flaws, or misconfigurations and anything that does not adhere to industry best practices. Expand upon assessments to coordinate and forecast with Public Safety senior leadership to develop remediation plans utilizing both operational and capital expenditure budgets. In coordination with the Director of Physical Security Systems and Human Services, as well as the Director of Operations, evaluate all facets of the Department’s technology expense budget to assure collective adherence to Public Safety’s roadmap and provide sound recommendations based on well-executed analyses to senior management on budgetary allocations and funding prioritizations.

    Project Management: Assist the Director of Physical Security Systems and Human Services Operations in the implementation efforts of Public Safety’s short and long-term vision by initiating, planning, implementing, monitoring, and closing project initiatives (50-100 projects per year onsite) which involve installs, etc. Must have the ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously; maintaining project timelines and budgets while making every effort to mitigate risk and limit the impact to the University community. Assist in maintaining project related documentation and communications.

    Application Management & Equipment Maintenance: Work in collaboration with the Technical Support Specialist in the operational aspects of the following systems: Lenel OnGuard Access Control System, Genetec Security Center Video Management System, T2 Parking Enforcement System, Guard 1 Plus Time & Attendance System, Mir3 Emergency Notification System, and Fresh Service Work Order Management System. Coordinate the installation and maintenance of physical security infrastructure including, but not limited to, card readers, electronic locks, traffic control methods (gate arms, ground markings, signs), digital video surveillance cameras, duress buttons, emergency telephones, turnstiles, ADA gates, and control panels.

    Liaison: Initiate and maintain working relationships with colleagues from all SJU business units to meet the objectives of the Department of Public Safety and the University. Manage vendor relationships with department partners that are instrumental in providing service and support to the Physical Security Program of SJU.

    Asset Management and Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate accounts of the security system’s assets, replacing stock or upgrading inventory as needed. Conduct regular audits of the systems and their functions to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy. Create and maintain documentation related to all Department technology systems.

    Supervision: Oversee the Technical Support Specialist, the PS Safety Systems Analyst and Payroll Analyst and the Graduate Assistant and student workers on special assignment to the physical security team.

    **Competencies: **

    • Knowledge of project management methodologies and/or certifications such as PMP/CSPM

    • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Project Management showing progressive responsibilities in life cycle activities with emphasis in project planning, risk assessment, resource management estimating and monitoring costs, quality management and project contract management.

    • Adaptive to new responsibilities; ability to multitask and perform under pressure.

    • Knowledge and extensive usage of Lenel OnGuard, Kronos, Genetic Security Center, Kronos Workforce Management, T2 Enforcement, and Audiolog Call Recording Software.

    **Supervisory Responsibility: **

    The Assistant Director of Physical Security and Project Management will manage the Technical Support Specialist, the PS Safety Systems Analyst and Payroll Analyst and the Graduate Assistant and student workers on special assignment to the physical security team the Technical Support Specialist and the Graduate Assistant and student workers on special assignment to the physical security team. In addition, the Assistant Director of Physical Security and Project Management will work alongside the Associate Director of Parking and StormCard Operations to provide direction, support, and training to the Operations Center professional and student worker staff.

    **Work Environment: **

    This position operates in a professional office environment and outdoors as needed. This position is required to use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, etc.

    **Physical Demands: **

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; move about; sit; to carry work and use controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate. Carrying equipment up to 50 lbs is sometimes required.

    **Environmental Conditions: **

    If applicable, indicate where the work environment has any unique conditions, i.e. noise, fumes, odors, gases, dust, hazards, etc.

    **Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: **

    This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. working outside of these hours is based on department need. This position is on call for emergency response. This position will also be required to work Special Events as designated by the Executive Director of Public Safety.

    **Travel: **

    Travel is primarily local and may include visits to the other NY campuses; some travel is out-of-area and overnight travel may be required for training.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field from an accredited university required

    • Knowledge of project management methodologies and/or certifications such as PMP

    • A range of experience from full performance (3-6 years related work experience) advancing to 5+ years of progressive experience in Project Management life cycle activities with emphasis in project planning, risk assessment, resource management estimating and monitoring costs, quality management and project contract management.

    • Adaptive to new responsibilities; ability to multitask and perform under pressure

    • Knowledge and extensive usage of Lenel OnGuard, Kronos, Genetic Security Center, Kronos Workforce Management, T2 Enforcement, and Audiolog Call Recording Software.

    **Preferred Education and Experience: **

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field from an accredited university required

    **Additional Eligibility Qualifications: **

    The ability to obtain or maintain current certifications/licenses within a specified timeframe.

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $80,000.
