    Job Description

    Job Summary

    The Administrative Assistant works as a team member to provide administrative services to the Development Department while adhering to the mission of St. Joseph Center. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Administrative Assistant’s key areas of responsibility and duties include: 

    KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

    • Perform administrative and clerical duties to include, but not limited to computer tasks, faxing, mailing, filing, and copying
    • Special Projects
    • Disburse in-kind items to programs and staff as needed

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Provide general administrative support for the department (calendaring, filing, electronic documentation, phone response, etc.)
    • Provide support for volunteer and Development special events
    • Assist with holiday arrangements for programs and clients
    • Keep track of incoming in-kind donations

    Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.     KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Must be highly motivated and a self-starter. 
    • The ability to communicate with and relate to a diverse group of people including clients, community, and other staff. 
    • Must have excellent organizational skills and the capability to work in a fast paced environment.   
    • Good written and verbal communication skills

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Previous office experience preferred.

    EDUCATION:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

    DIRECT REPORTS:

    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. 

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Ability to use widely supported internet browsers.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

    • Valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
    • Valid automobile liability insurance.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Travel occasionally from site to site.
