    In partnership with team members and the City of St. Louis, the Outreach Nutrition and Hygiene Attendant will coordinate and implement the use of shower stalls at encampments throughout the city of St. Louis. The attendant will also assist in meal delivery to the encampments when the showers are not being in use and work closely with Mobile Outreach Staff and community outreach workers to ensure service delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES • Work closely with outreach team members to determine best placement to meet needs in the city • Monitor the use of the shower stalls at different encampment sites throughout the week • Ensure that shower stalls are cleaned and sanitized after each use • Maintain a list of supplies and ensure that items are stocked before use • Pick up and deliver meals to encampments • Engage clients in conversation to determine needs and provide appropriate resources • Inform persons in need of food, shelter, medical and hygiene assistance of the location of resources • Engage clients in conversations regarding substance use, mental health issues and other issues that keep them on the street • Work closely with area service agencies to ensure service delivery • Refer clients to appropriate community agencies, assisting clients when needed • Refer to the Mobile Outreach Program as needed • Record services provided and maintain notes for on-going clients in Case Worthy and Service Point within 24 hours • Complete daily, weekly, monthly reporting • Respect and be responsible for agency policy regarding work hours, building security and all written personnel standards • Maintain vehicle including tracking mileage and gasoline, when driving • Required Class E Driver License (MO residents only) • Other duties as assigned DIRECT REPORTS None KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or GED and/or experience in human service field required • Bachelor’s degree or Peer Support Certification preferred • Familiarity with the fields of mental illness and drug / alcohol abuse, symptoms, terminology and interventions • Familiarity with appropriate and available community resources • Familiarity and experience working with homeless individuals • Residence within the specified region preferred, but not required SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Recognize personal strengths and limitations regarding time, skill and knowledge • Able to work with highly diversified workforce • Able to adapt to fast changing/paced workforce and position • Ability to work with clients that struggle with Substance Use and Severe and Persistent Mental Illnesses • Trauma Informed Care Trained • CPR/AED/First Aid Trained • Ability to communicate and work as a team member, especially with partner • Ability to build productive relationships • Understand workforce demands and adapt to workforce tasks • Ability to set limits with clients • Ability to engage new clients • Ability to assess persons and situations • Reliable transportation is needed RELATIONSHIPS REQUIRED • Community Outreach Workers • City/State Officials • Work with other St. Patrick Center staff • Communicate verbally and in writing to Program Support Manager • Ability to work with related agencies BENEFITS • Medical, dental and vision insurance • Paid life insurance • Long-term disability insurance • Flexible spending account • 403b with company match • Holiday pay • Paid time off (self-care days, birthday and personal day) • Paid paternity and maternity leave • Paid sick days • Wellness perks • Employee appreciation days • Learning and development resources • And much more!
