SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Accountant is a member of the Finance team and will assist the Sr. Director of Finance in all aspects of the accounting functions of the Agency. The Accountant will also participate in the various grant administration functions as it pertains to the Finance Department, including budgets and reporting on certain grants. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepare monthly billings to Federal, State, Local and private entities. • Assist the Sr. Director of Finance with monthly/annual closing • Gather and organizing of time and preparation of weekly and semi-monthly reports to the Archdiocese. • Reconciliation of Grant expenditures to General Ledger and SEFA report • Prepare various schedules and assist Sr. Director of Finance with internal, governmental and outside auditor requests • Research problems/issues/questions as needed • Assist the Sr. Director of Finance in the yearly budget process • Collaborate with Program Operations to prepare grant budgets and generate grant reports necessary for grant administration • Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: • Four year degree from an Accredited College or University in Accounting or related field • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong Knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs. • 0-2 years of experience in an accounting environment. SKILLS • Excellent time management and organizational skills are imperative. • Must be able to meet time-sensitive deadlines. • Ability to effectively communicate, especially complex issues that may arise. • Ability to adapt to and implement ongoing regulatory and oversight changes.
