    SUMMARY The Occupational Therapist will use functional and client-centered performance assessments to develop and implement treatment plans for clients experiencing homelessness. The OT will work closely with Coordinated Entry (CE) Staff to ensure clients have access to services. These services will allow clients to become housing ready by obtaining proper documentation and gaining the skills to maintain housing. RESPONSIBILITIES • Complete functional and client-centered performance assessments on all clients, including but not limited to: functional cognitive skills, safety awareness, activities of daily living, community living skills, participation in leisure and productive occupations and vocational readiness • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans • Refer and encourage client participation in available and appropriate community resources, day programs, employment opportunities and training programs • Work directly with clients using individual and group modalities to address identified performance deficits and client goals • Facilitate all leisure-based client groups • Oversee all client training regarding activities of daily living • Engage in outcomes tracking • Assist in maintaining client files in ways including but not limited to: completing OT assessments on all new clients; compiling authorizations, releases and previous medical records; and writing OT progress notes in a timely and confidential manner • Assist clients with disability documentation when needed • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services • Participate in regular supervision and training as required • Provide crisis intervention as needed using working knowledge of DSM IV, psychotropic medications and crisis intervention theory. For any crisis that is clinical in nature or that involves a client of the Department of Mental Health, ensure the involvement of a Qualified Mental Health Professional • Facilitate occupation-based groups to increase client skills and/or increase exposure to activities of daily living, work or leisure • Work closely with SPC CE Staff to ensure clients have access to services • Supervise OT students in accordance to AOTA and ACOTE standards • Perform other services as required. QUALIFICATIONS • License to practice Occupational Therapy with experience providing occupational therapy services in the areas of substance abuse, severe and persistent mental illness, dual diagnosis, homelessness • Must have Missouri licensure and current NBCOT registration (or eligibility) • Knowledge of documentation standards, HIPAA and privacy standards, crisis management and harm reduction principles • Capability of partnering with and empowering clients served
