    SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Financial Stability Specialist will utilize best practices to assess financial needs of the clients, make referrals as deemed appropriate, and monitor each client’s progress and retention. The specialist assists clients with money management, budgeting, savings plan and helps clients become financially stable. Individual and team sessions will be held with program clients on-site and in the client’s home. This specialist will hold financial stability and budgeting classes for program participants. This specialist will work with program participants on financial management and assist with continued budgeting, credit reports, financial fitness assessments, bill payment, and assist clients with sound financial decision making. RESPONSIBILITES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Assess initial program eligibility at intake • Assist clients with establishing Individual Service Strategies (ISS) and document progress • Reinforce positive substance use progress and long-term self-sufficiency plans • Hold weekly budgeting and financial stability classes • Assist clients with monthly budgeting • Work with other case managers to address long-term financial stability needs • Receive input from ICM team members regarding employment, housing, mentoring, substance abuse, and other immediate/long term needs. • Adhere to strategies and goals outlined in the ISS and Treatment Plan • Assist with developing client treatment plans and assist with completion of goals • Track client goals and treatment plans monthly • Complete daily and monthly departmental paperwork • Refer clients to additional resources to address other service needs (i.e. legal assistance, VA benefits, substance abuse counseling, etc.) • Research additional benefits available to enhance service being provided • Update daily clients’ electronic files in ECM and include any types of contact with client, services, or any internal or external referrals made • Must possess a Missouri Class E Driver License (MO residents only) • Asses the clients’ strengths, desires, and immediate/long-term needs • Assist with life skills classes • Assist case managers with daily duties • Work with manager on tracking program budget and track program finances • Track all client rent payments and submit to manager • Meet with all clients and compile rent payments • Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; BSW or related field preferred, or equivalent experience with proof of ability to perform effective case management • Knowledge of housing and other supportive services resources • Trauma Informed Care trained • Knowledge of Housing First and Harm Reduction • Understanding of money management, financial stability and other finances. • Microsoft Excel proficient • Available to work a minimum of 37.5 hours a week • Reliable transportation required SKILLS AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED: • Interest in helping clients reach their full potential • Ability to work well with a wide range of people • Ability to follow, understand and meet grant requirements, including paperwork • Good math / financial planning skills • Ability to develop budgets • Ability to handle confidential information • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations • Ability to process a large volume of paperwork
