    St. Stephen's Episcopal School, a day and boarding school of 690 students (grades 6-12), is seeking an Upper School Chemistry Teacher for a full-time position beginning August 1, 2021.

    Candidates must have a degree in Chemistry or a closely related field, as well as 5-10 years of experience teaching high school Chemistry. The Science Department is looking for candidates who: are dynamic, inquisitive, continually advancing their knowledge of chemistry and teaching, utilize a variety of teaching methods, are technologically proficient, and love working closely with energetic students and a dedicated faculty. A demonstrated focus on using laboratory experiments and demonstrations to derive fundamental concepts in Chemistry by using a guided inquiry approach to learning is a must.

    Full-Time Upper School Faculty Responsibilities:

    • Teach four sections of first-year Chemistry,

    • Serve as an advisor to a group of Upper School students,

    • Contribute to two other areas of school life, including athletic or extracurricular programs,

    • Attend Chapel, proctor study halls and participate in a family-style lunch program.
