    Context

At Landmark, we believe better living starts with exceptional experiences for owners, residents, and our operating teams. Born out of the engineering labs at co-living leader Bungalow, Landmark is reimagining property management from the ground up. Landmark is building a future where AI and human expertise work together to deliver responsive service, smart operations, and vibrant communities that people are proud to call home.. As we scale, we're seeking a Staff AI Engineer to strategically lead and shape our AI roadmap.

This role is pivotal to our mission: building and leading intelligent solutions that transform property management through automation and augmentation. As a founding member of the AI team, you'll set the technical vision, strategy, and goals, while still actively contributing to the architecture, implementation, and delivery of AI features. You will own and drive:

    • semantic search spanning multiple systems
    • automatic support request triaging and classification for owners and residents
    • interactive communications with owners and residents
    • translating natural-language inquiries into concrete data visualizations
    • image content classification
    • multi-agent systems supporting end-to-end maintenance workflow automations
    • automations for resident and property lifecycle management: resident move-ins, property onboarding
    • and more…

If you're passionate about pushing the AI frontier to solve real-world challenges and fundamentally shape automation in one of the world's most essential industries, then let's connect!

    Your Mission

Strategic AI Leadership: Own, define, and execute our AI strategy. Evaluate AI opportunities, prioritize strategic projects, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives. Influence key technology decisions and partnerships.

Semantic Search: Design an intelligent core AI semantic search system [e.g. RAG - leveraging embeddings and vector databases] to surface relevant context and data for different applications across our workflows.

AI Infrastructure Ownership: Define best practices and own infrastructure decisions for robust, secure, and scalable deployment of AI services. Oversee related containerization (Docker) and cloud deployment processes, ensuring observability, reliability, performance, and maintainability.

AI Feature Development: Own, architect, and build AI-driven applications and features that automate and augment property management processes across multiple systems [e.g. automating customer inquiry handling, maintenance request coordination, labor dispatching, leasing and marketing optimizations, and internal reporting].

Tuning + Optimization: Fine-tune and customize AI/ML models [using techniques such as LoRA] to improve performance on domain-specific problems and continuously evaluate their effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations and Data teams to identify opportunities for new automations and optimizations. Translate real-world property management challenges into effective AI-powered solutions, including architecture and technical implementation.

Frontier Leadership: You will ensure that our team is up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI [LLMs, tools, frameworks] and proactively bring new ideas and build experimental prototypes. Your curiosity will ensure that Landmark remains at the cutting edge of AI-powered workflow and operations automations.
