    Position Summary:

    Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our fully remote accounting team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with strong NetSuite and Excel skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and collections. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can prioritize tasks effectively, work independently, and has a passion for simplifying and automating processes. Preferred candidate lives in California or Colorado and is a remote role.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage full-cycle accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, cash application, and collections follow-up
    • Process and maintain accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments
    • Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations
    • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and key general ledger accounts monthly
    • Support the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations
    • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and leverage automation tools
    • Collaborate with team members and departments across the organization to ensure accuracy of financial data
    • Assist with audit requests and support financial reporting as needed
    • Participate in ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • 5 + years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized company
    • NetSuite experience is required
    • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas
    • Understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in a fully remote environment
    • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements and automation
    • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a team-oriented attitude
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

     

    Work Environment:
