Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role blends core accounting responsibilities with Accounts Payable (AP), inventory accounting, and general purchasing functions, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both financial accuracy and operational coordination.
This position works directly with the Controller and collaborates across multiple departments, including operations and procurement. The ideal candidate thrives in a small but rapidly growing company, where adaptability, ownership, and a hands-on approach are key to success.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts, including tracking movements and variances
Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Support financial statement preparation and audit requests
Maintain accurate and organized financial records
Accounts Payable (AP)
Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals
Manage payment cycles (checks, ACH, wire transfers)
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Maintain vendor files, including W-9s and compliance documentation
Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Purchasing & Procurement
Coordinate purchase requests and issue purchase orders (POs)
Partner with internal departments to ensure proper authorization and budget alignment
Source vendors and obtain competitive pricing when needed
Track orders, deliveries, and inventory levels
Maintain purchasing records and ensure alignment with company policies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–2 years of accounting experience (AP, inventory, and/or purchasing experience preferred)
Strong understanding of GAAP principles
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs a plus)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
What We Offer
Salary Range: $35,000 - $40,000 annually
