    A leading, institutionally backed real estate investment organization is seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team. This role supports a complex portfolio of real estate investments and offers hands-on exposure to sophisticated partnership accounting, SOX controls, and GAAP reporting within a highly collaborative environment.

    *$85:-$100K base ($105-$120K Total Comp 1st Year)

    *Hybrid 3 days/week in office

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analyses.
    • Perform daily accounting operations, including financial reporting activities and SOX-related internal controls.
    • Review and process monthly financial packages from third-party property managers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
    • Reconcile general ledger balances to sub-ledgers and detailed supporting schedules.
    • Prepare monthly variance analysis and management reporting in accordance with internal control requirements.
    • Review loan draws and record funding-related journal entries, ensuring proper project and GL coding.
    • Partner cross-functionally and with external service providers to ensure timely and accurate transaction recording.
    • Assist with the implementation of new accounting processes and the continuous improvement of existing workflows.
    • Prepare audit support and respond to requests from internal and external auditors.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated accounting issues.
    • Maintain and update standard operating procedures for key accounting processes.
    • Provide ad hoc reporting and special project support to senior finance leadership.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.
    • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, including consolidations and real estate accounting.
    • Public accounting (Big 4) experience preferred.
    • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Yardi or other real estate accounting systems preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytically minded.
