    As Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy of FTL’s accounting data and customer accounts. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a desire to enhance financial processes. The Staff Accountant position will collaborate across all FTL departments to ensure successful finance operations.

    What You'll Do:

    • Manage accounts receivable by reconciling incoming payments, researching discrepancies, and applying payments accurately to customer accounts
    • Maintain monthly bank reconciliations, investigating variances and preparing adjusting entries when necessary
    • Assist with month-end close procedures and preparation of financial reporting to ensure deadlines are met
    • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and analyze general ledger activity to verify accuracy of financial data
    • Prepare journal entries for company transactions and accruals
    • Maintain organized documentation and supporting schedules for general ledger accounts
    • Assist in compiling data and reports to support budgeting and forecasting activities
    • Identify and recommend improvements to cash and general ledger processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
    • Assist with financial and compliance audits by preparing supporting documentation and schedules
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies
    • Assist the team with other tasks and duties as needed

    What You'll Bring:

    • 1+ year of accounting experience, preferably within accounts receivable or general ledger functions
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA eligibility or pursuit is a plus
    • Experience with month-end close processes including reconciliations and journal entries
    • Solid understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP)
    • Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
    • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data filtering, and analysis)
    • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Professionalism when interacting with vendors, customers, auditors, and colleagues
    • Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or similar ERP systems preferred
