    Forbis Logistics and Xpedite Procurement Services seek a Staff Accountant

    Summary:We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and analytical Staff Accountant to support our accounting operations in a fast-paced procurement and sales environment. This role requires solid accounting knowledge and the ability to manage transactional complexity related to purchasing, inventory, and customer billing. The ideal candidate not only executes day-to-day accounting functions with precision but also brings a problem-solving mindset—identifying trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement to support better decision-making across the business.Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in interpreting financial trends and data to support operational and strategic decision-making across departments.

    • Record and reconcile purchases, sales, and payments, ensuring proper classification and accounting treatments.

    • Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to properly record purchase orders, goods receipts, and inventory entries.

    • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable: review invoices, apply payments, and follow up on collections.

    • Reconcile bank accounts and key general ledger accounts, including supplier advances, customer balances, and inventory movements.

    • Track inventory-related accounting entries, returns, commercial discounts, and margin analysis.

    • Support month-end closing and assist in preparing financial and operational reports (sales, costs, margins).

    • Ensure proper recording and compliance related to sales tax and support filing or audit processes as needed.

    • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting and administrative workflows related to the purchasing and sales cycle.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • 2 – 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in procurement, trading, or commercial operations.

    • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices.

    • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (mandatory); experience with QuickBooks Desktop is a plus.

    • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).

    • High level of attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
