OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented, aspiring accounting professional to join our team as a Staff Accountant Intern. This role is designed for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting within a sophisticated financial environment. You will work directly within our ERP system and manage critical balance sheet functions.

Note: This is a temporary internship position. While there is the potential for this role to convert to a permanent, full-time Staff Accountant position based on performance and business needs, conversion is not guaranteed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Journal Entries: Prepare daily and month-end journal entries for review and posting within the Workday ERP system.
• Full Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Take ownership of preparing reconciliations across all Balance Sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Month-End Support: Assist with accruals, departmental expense tracking, and ensuring the general ledger remains balanced.
• Audit Preparation: Gather schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Process Efficiency: Identify ways to leverage Workday functionality to streamline manual data entry.

Qualifications

• Education: Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (strongly preferred) or a closely related Business field.
• Experience: Previous internship experience or advanced coursework in Financial Accounting.
• Technical Skills: * ** Intermediate Excel: **Must be proficient in using VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SumIfs, and complex formulas to manipulate large datasets. * ** Familiarity with ERP systems - **(Workday experience is a significant plus).
• Soft Skills: High level of integrity, extreme attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
