    About Us:

    ****Long Ledgers LLC is a growing accounting, payroll and tax preparation company services clients primarily in Colorado and New Mexico. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team and support multiple clients across a variety of industries. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on multiple accounts simultaneously.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Client Accounting & Bookkeeping

    • Work primarily in QuickBooks Online managing transactions, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Manage and organize client information in cloud files, keeps notes on accounts
    • Reviews, reconciles and corrects trial balance
    • Works with multiple accounts, each with different needs and engagements

    Client Communication & Relationship Management

    • Serve as primary accounting contact for assigned clients
    • Responds to client inquiries and requests
    • Build strong relationships through proactive communication and service

    Tax Support

    • Supports income tax preparation by following firm best practices
    • Provide good record keeping and notes to support tax examinations
    • Capable of reviewing and reconciling general ledger accounts to real world by investigation and understanding of GAAP

    Payroll Processing

    • Needs basic understanding of payroll in multiple states in order to process payroll for clients
    • Assistance with clients in discussing employee onboarding best practices
    • Capable of learning multiple software platforms for payroll, timekeeping, HR and onboarding
    • Ability to review payroll reports and create general ledger entries, reconciles payroll in accounting system

    Team Collaboration

    • Work closely with manager and tax professional
    • Assist other team members when needed, sharing internal processes on different accounts
    • Participate in process improvement and internal initiatives to enhance client service

    Qualifications

    • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft products
    • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client priorities efficiently
    • Cloud-based computer skills required, including setting and managing Zoom conference meetings, secure file sending, etc.

    Schedule

    • customizable schedule based on Monday to Friday business hours primarily
    • 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM primary working hours
    • 15-30 hours per week
    • 4 to shift hour shifts preferred

    Work Setting

    • Primarily work from home
    • Potential for some travel to clients and post office/UPS and occasional in office work
    • Considerable time spent working with clients and team via virtual meetings
