Position Summary– MetroLagoons is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for our growing network of lagoon destinations. This role is critical in maintaining financial accuracy and integrity across accounts payable, receivables, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:
General Accounting:
- Assist in preparing journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank statements and corporate credit cards monthly.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with GAAP.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Provide occasional support to the AP Specialist and oversee the processing of vendor invoices and employee reimbursements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Collaborate with operational teams to verify proper documentation and expense coding.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Assist with financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis for leadership and lagoon operations.
- Support audit requests and provide necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records for tax filings and assist with sales/use tax tracking.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (preferred)
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or hospitality-related environment.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset.
