    Overview

    Out of the Box Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting functions across a variety of client accounts. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in GAAP, financial reporting, and reconciliations, and who are comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-client environment. A bachelor's degree in accounting is required, and experience with QuickBooks Online and Desktop is strongly preferred.

    The Staff Accountant works independently and collaboratively with senior accountants to deliver accurate and timely financial services, contributing to a high standard of client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Maintain and manage general ledger activity for multiple client accounts
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
    • Perform account reconciliations (bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts)
    • Process journal entries and ensure accuracy in month-end and year-end close activities
    • Support accounts payable and receivable functions, including vendor bill entry and customer invoicing
    • Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate payroll accounting entries
    • Support sales tax tracking, reporting, and filings as needed
    • Collaborate with senior accountants and client leads on financial reviews and reporting

    Key Functions

    Accounting & Financial Reporting

    • Apply GAAP principles to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial data
    • Maintain clean and organized general ledgers for assigned clients
    • Analyze account activity to identify discrepancies or areas needing adjustment
    • Assist in compiling documentation for audits or financial reviews

    QuickBooks Expertise

    • Work within QuickBooks Online to perform day-to-day tasks
    • Set up and maintain client files and chart of accounts
    • Utilize bank feeds and import tools to streamline data entry and reconciliation processes

    Client Communication & Collaboration

    • Provide timely responses to client questions and accounting inquiries
    • Maintain positive and professional client relationships
    • Support internal teams with financial data and accounting insights

    Compliance & Operations

    • Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards
    • Keep up with accounting trends, QuickBooks updates, and regulatory changes
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting workflows and processes

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
    • 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (multi-client environment a plus)
    • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
    • Experience with QuickBooks Online (required)
    • Familiarity with sales tax compliance, payroll accounting, and month-end close
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
    • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
