  • Responsibilities

    Excellent opportunity for a dependable and detail-driven Staff Accountant to support the core financial functions of the company. The candidate should be capable of balancing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment and display excellent analytical skills. Responsibilities: • Prepare schedules, compile data, and post monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries required for the accurate reporting of the Company's financial statements • Prepare various account reconciliations for the Company. • Support preparation efforts for external financial audits, including organizing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. • Generate financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets • Continually look for improvements in workflow and procedures and implement necessary changes • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget process • Recommend and implement improvements to internal accounting processes and controls to drive efficiency and reduce errors • Assist with the adherence to statutory accounting standards and regulations • Contribute to internal projects or ad-hoc tasks that enhance accounting operations Qualifications: • An associate degree in accounting is required; a bachelor’s degree in accounting is strongly preferred • 1-3 years of experience or various internships in the field of accounting preferred; however, recent graduates with strong academic backgrounds will also be considered • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial professionals • Displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process; able to make timely decisions • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team • Demonstrates a high attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and accounting software programs such as Microsoft Dynamics GP. Has the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 yr based on experience
