    The Staff Accountant - US plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the company's financial records. This position is best suited for an experienced accounting professional who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to operate with a high degree of ownership.

    This individual will support external financial reporting and technical accounting initiatives, while actively participating in key aspects of the month-end closing process. The role requires a detail-oriented, proactive professional who can independently manage responsibilities, navigate complex accounting matters, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

    As a Staff Accountant, you will:

    • Contribute to consolidation activities and external reporting requirements, including IFRS-based financials for Canadian operations

    • Support technical accounting initiatives, including researching guidance, drafting technical memos, and assisting with policy development

    • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

    • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the general ledger for assigned areas

    • Assist with accounting for complex areas such as leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation, and other technical topics

    • Strengthen and support internal controls, including participation in the design, maintenance, and enhancement of accounting processes

    • Identify, analyze, and propose process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of internal and external financial reporting, among other duties

    To be successful you will need to have the following experience, skills and abilities:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • 2–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a demonstrated ability to operate with increasing ownership and complexity
    • Experience in the transportation or equipment leasing industry is considered a strong asset.
    • Public accounting and/or relevant industry experience preferred
    • Experience supporting financial reporting and external audits required
    • Experience in multi-entity or international environments (including IFRS exposure) is a plus
    • CPA designation or active progress toward CPA strongly preferred
