** Staff Accountant**

** Location:** Garden City, NY (Hybrid – 4 days in office)

** Compensation:** $33/hour ($70K upon permanent hire)

Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm (3-month evaluation period)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team at a reputable tax certiorari law firm in Garden City, NY. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to contribute to key financial operations including banking, billing, financial reporting, and analysis within a professional legal services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

** Banking & Cash Applications**

• Apply client check and credit card payments to invoices
• Record and reconcile daily deposits
• Maintain accurate payment records and resolve discrepancies

** Billing & Client Accounting**

• Analyze billing data for commercial, condominium, and residential property clients
• Process and distribute municipal refund payments to clients
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing

** Financial Reporting & Analysis**

• Assist with preparation of weekly management reports
• Support month-end close processes
• Prepare and issue year-end 1099-INT forms

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA not required)
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel required)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Law firm or professional services experience is a plus
