About the Role
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial health of United Tel-Supply. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, order processing, and multi-state sales tax reporting. This is a hands-on, in-office position based in San Angelo, TX and will collaborate closely with Office Management & CFO to tackle everyday needs.

You're a Strong Fit If You:
- Are a multitasker who stays organized and accurate while managing multiple responsibilities at once
- Have experience with accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and invoicing
- Understand sales tax reporting, particularly across multiple U.S. states (preferred)
- Are confident in order processing and managing accounting workflows tied to daily operations
- Are proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Work well independently, but are also a reliable team player
- Are adaptable and willing to take on new responsibilities as the company evolves
Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
- Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and on time
- Manage and issue customer invoices and oversee collections efforts
- Handle order processing from an accounting and documentation standpoint
- Prepare and submit multi-state sales tax filings
- Reconcile bank accounts and vendor/customer accounts as needed
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist in month-end close
- Provide day-to-day support to the Office Manager on administrative and accounting-related tasks
- Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, reporting, and financial forecasting
- Assist in implementing and improving financial processes and internal controls
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized business
- Experience with state sales tax filings is preferred multi-state sales tax reporting experience is a bonus
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and standard accounting tools
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work onsite full time in San Angelo, TX
- Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume environment is a plus
