Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will reconcile, prepare, and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Prepares and assists with weekly/monthly reporting.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and other financial accounts.
• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Processes non-standard payroll requests.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Supports tax reporting requirements.
• Maintains schedules of capitalized software development.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to work independently with leadership oversight.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.

• Ability to work with a variety of people and personality styles
Minimum Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
• At least two years of related experience required.

• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time. • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job on the business premises, the employee is inside a central heat and air-conditioned office building. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
