    Legal Aid Society of San Bernardino (LASSB) seeks an attorney to practice civil defense for evictions. The work is full-time and hybrid including home, office, and courts. Public interest experience and Spanish is helpful but not required.

    LASSB is a legal aid firm with 65 years of service in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties (Inland Empire).     Qualifications:

    • Licensed and admitted in good standing with the California State Bar
    • Committed to low-income clientele, social change, diversity, equity, inclusion, & belonging
    • Ability to work in a diverse team with community partners under strict deadlines
    • Strong organizational, research, technology, writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge of eviction, foreclosure, negotiation, and trial processes is preferred but not required
    • Spanish language preferred but not required

    Essential Functions:

    • Manage large volumes of advice and document preparation eviction cases
    • Prepare pleadings, letters, and applications for relief in evictions
    • Negotiating with landlords, opposing counsel, & government agencies
    • Representation in court trials, mediation, arbitration, and administrative agencies
    • Community outreach and legal education to community partners and the client community
    • Train, mentor and support volunteer attorneys, paralegals, student interns and fellows.

    Benefits:

    • Salary range: starting at $70k - $80k depending on experience.
