    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Bryant Consultants is seeking a part-time to full-time Staff Engineer, with specialized experience in structural engineering, to join our Insurance Services Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site observations and data collection, structural evaluations, interviewing property owners and/or their representatives, and technical report writing.

    ABOUT THE POSITION

    Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the Staff Engineer position include:

    Engineering analyses related to a variety of projects include, but is not limited to, commercial and residential buildings, retaining walls, flatwork, towers, reinforced slopes, bridges, drainageways, and any other structurally related projects;

    Evaluate data from engineering reports and documents, construction plans and documentation, municipal records, site photographs and field notes, deposition transcripts, and various other court proceedings to form conclusions;

    Review supplied file information, perform in-town and out-of-town inspections (including crawlspaces, attics, roofs, etc.), conduct interviews, draw floor plans, document site-specific and environmental variables, take relative elevation foundation and/or topographical measurements, obtain photographic support (with voice annotations), and document any other relevant information;

    Communicate with clients about project details during the project life cycle and document all correspondence.

    Assisting with other forensic investigations in determining cause-and-origin of damages, construction defects, structural failures, water intrusion, and building envelope deficiencies; and

    Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, with proven experience in forensic investigations, data analysis, and report writing;

    Structural engineering education and experience preferred;

    Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required, and

    5-7 years of staff engineer experience preferred.
