Our design team is passionate about delivering a fast, easy, and fun creative experience that empowers users to bring their ideas to life-beautifully and effortlessly.
The Extensibility team enables Express to reach new audiences-whether through integrations inside Express, or by embedding Express features into partner apps like Acrobat, Miro, Fantasy Premier League, and ChatGPT. We empower developers and partners to build on our platform, expanding what’s possible for creators of all kinds.
We’re seeking a Staff Designer to lead design for extensibility experiences. You’ll shape how users and developers discover, access, and integrate Express capabilities across diverse surfaces, driving the future of creative extensibility at Adobe.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll drive the vision and strategy for extensibility across Express and partner platforms, crafting scalable systems and intuitive workflows for integrations into our Express experience and AI assistant. You will be responsible for designing end-to-end experiences that enable seamless integration of Express features into partner apps, ensuring that creativity powered by Express can reach users wherever they are-whether inside our product or through collaborations with leading platforms.
You’ll work closely with other designers, product managers, engineers, and external partners to expand on requirements and deliver high-impact solutions. Collaboration is central to this role, as you’ll lead cross-functional efforts and AI-first initiatives across our partner ecosystem, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives to create solutions that are both elegant and impactful.
Your approach will elevate design quality through systems thinking, accessibility, and scalability, guaranteeing that extensibility experiences are consistent and delightful across multiple surfaces and devices. As a mentor, you’ll guide designers and contribute to a culture of craft, innovation, and inclusivity, fostering an environment where creativity and collaboration thrive.
What You Need to Succeed
10+ years of experience in UX/product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing complex systems, extensibility, or developer-focused work.
Expertise in designing for platforms, integrations, or developer ecosystems.
Proven ability to translate technical constraints into elegant user experiences.
Strong systems thinking and experience building design patterns for extensible products.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to share design rationale persuasively across all levels of the organization.
Experience working iteratively with agile engineering teams.
Deep knowledge and passion for accessible and inclusive design.
A proven track record of aligning across teams and building shared design direction
Experience working within design systems and contributing back to them
Experience designing for both desktop and mobile.
Proactive collaboration across teams and ability to connect dots across functions and teams.
Experience designing for AI workflows.
Nice to Have
Passion for building creative plugins and empowering creativity through technology.
Familiarity with API-driven workflows, developer tools, and partner integrations is a plus.
Passion for using AI tools to build interactive prototypes for usability testing or impactful storytelling.
Preferred Accessibility Design Skills
Experience designing accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities.
Familiarity with WCAG standards and testing for accessibility compliance.
Certifications such as CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or ADS from IAAP are a plus.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $146,300 -- $274,300 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
