Staff Sign Language Interpreter & Outreach Coordinator Candidates must live in the St. Louis Metro area and be flexible to travel throughout our work area as needed.
Job Overview / Position Summary This role is ideal for a sign language interpreter who wants to make a meaningful impact beyond a single assignment by strengthening community relationships, professional development, and access initiatives. The Staff Sign Language Interpreter and Outreach Coordinator is a unique hybrid position that combines interpreting services with community outreach, workshop development, provider engagement, content creation, and brand representation.
You will provide interpreting services as needed while also contributing administrative time to develop workshops, create educational content, and support outreach efforts for Deaf, interpreting, and hearing communities. This includes participating in short-form videos, contributing creative ideas, and helping expand awareness of accessibility. You will also serve as a visible representative of MT and Associates, building relationships and engaging in meaningful spaces within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and interpreting communities.

Key Responsibilities
Provide onsite, remote, and post-production interpreting services as needed
Support captioning and audio description projects (training provided)
Support training of MT&A staff, Deaf/HOH, interpreting, and hearing communities
Help ensure services are delivered with high quality and professionalism
Represent MT & Associates at community events, workshops, and professional spaces
Build relationships within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community
Support outreach initiatives that strengthen community trust and visibility
Serve as a professional and welcoming face of the company in external engagements
Support development of workshops, presentations, and educational resources
Assist with Deaf and Hard of Hearing community learning initiatives
Help create materials for interpreter development and accessibility education
Contribute ideas for training, webinars, and creative community programs
Support short-form video content and outreach-focused social media initiatives (spreading awareness)
Assist with recruiting, newsletters, website updates, and marketing materials
Help develop educational and promotional content that reflects MT&A’s mission
Collaborate on campaigns that increase awareness of accessibility services
Support recruitment and provider engagement initiatives
Assist with SOP updates, process documentation, and internal improvements
Help coordinate mail, equipment shipments, and general admin projects
Support special projects and team priorities as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Comfortable representing a company in community and professional settings
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Creative mindset with interest in outreach, workshops, and short-form content
Professional client-facing experience
Tech-savvy with strong problem-solving ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication tools
Ability to travel, predominantly throughout the St. Louis Metro Area
Certifications
BEI Level 4/5 or RID/NIC Certification (required)
Licensure where applicable
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred
5+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred
Experience in community outreach, workshops, or training support preferred
Government clearance preferred
