    Our Staff Sign Language Interpreter & Scheduling Coordinator position is a unique hybrid role combining interpreting work with scheduling coordination and administrative support. It is designed for an interpreter who is excited to learn and grow long-term with a small but mighty team.

    Position Summary

    This role is ideal for a sign language interpreter who enjoys combining hands-on interpreting with meaningful administrative work. You will manage scheduling logistics, communicate with clients and providers, support recruiting and workshops, and provide interpreting services both onsite and remotely.     Key Responsibilities

    1. Scheduling & Accessibility Services

    Gather service details from customers and coordinate interpreting/captioning requests

    Schedule services with contractors and providers via phone, email, text, and scheduling platforms

    Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality

    Support customer satisfaction and retention efforts

    Participate in on-call scheduling support

    Provide interpreting services as needed (remote, onsite, or post-production)

    1. Contractor Recruitment & Retention

    Recruit interpreters, captioners, and other accessibility providers

    Conduct contractor interviews and onboarding

    Build strong relationships to support long-term retention/satisfaction

    1. Administrative & Team Support

    Assist with pickup and drop of mail/equipment shipments

    Assist with website updates, newsletters, and recruiting/marketing materials

    Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and specification sheets

    Provide general administrative support and other duties as assigned

    1. Interpreting & Creative Projects

    Provide onsite, remote, and post-production interpreting (hours vary)

    Support captioning and audio description projects (training provided)

    Workshops, presentations, and special creative initiatives for interpreter and Deaf development

    Qualifications

    Required Skills

    Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment

    Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

    Professional client-facing experience

    High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

    Tech-savvy with strong problem-solving skills

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools

    Certifications

    BEI Level 4/5 or RID/NIC Certification (Required)

    Licensure where applicable

    Education & Experience

    Bachelor’s degree preferred

    Experience scheduling sign language interpreting services (preferred)

    5+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred

    Government clearance (preferred)
