  • Responsibilities

    Position Description:

    Provide counseling and psychological services to VU students, including: assessment, treatment planning, implementation of individual and group counseling interventions, crisis intervention, direct and indirect psycho-educational programming and outreach, supervision of graduate-level trainees (if qualified), and psychological and organizational consultation. **

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Conduct triage assessments and present cases in the clinical staff meetings.
    • Conduct individual, conjoint, and group counseling sessions to empower clients to overcome barriers to successful academic and personal functioning.
    • Record notes on client attendance and progress to maintain accurate client records within legal and ethical guidelines of the profession.
    • Provide psychological consultation to assist students, parents, faculty, and staff in understanding and dealing with problems of a psychological nature.
    • Design and present direct and indirect outreach programs to facilitate students' education and quality of life skills.

    Required Knowledge and Skills:

    • Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field.
    • A doctorate or master’s degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology, CMHC, MSW, or related mental health counseling degree.
    • Licensure or license eligibility in Indiana within three years of hire is necessary.
    • Possessing college counseling center experience is preferred.

  • Qualifications
    • Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or other scheduling related systems and have experience working with On Screen Takeoff and/or MC2 type software is preferred
    • Candidates must have a strong understanding of conceptual estimating, estimating techniques, and cost control
    • Ability to prepare proposals with minimum supervision
    • Must be comfortable working in teams
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates should be able to clearly articulate bid inclusions, exclusions, and proposal clarifications with owners and subcontractors
    • Must be able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
