    Our client is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in corrugate production, possess a completed BSEE with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, and exhibit proficiency in electrical controls and programming. This role requires in-depth knowledge of PLC, HMI, and robotic cell controls, particularly with Allen-Bradley PLC systems interfacing with FANUC and/or KUKA robots. The Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and managing control programs for various material handling applications, ensuring efficiency and alignment with project objectives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI control programs for seamless integration with FANUC and/or KUKA robot control programs.
    • Oversee and manage robot control programs for case loading, palletizing, and other material handling applications.
    • Design controls and programming for additional material handling equipment such as conveyors, collators, and dispensers, focusing on efficient product, case, and pallet handling.
    • Collaborate with the Project Management and Mechanical Engineering teams to ensure electrical designs and programming align with overall project objectives.
    • Support the Application Engineering department by contributing to the development of robust control concepts for new customer applications.
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, conducting research and implementing innovations to enhance the design and implementation of plant equipment, emphasizing design flexibility and redeployment.
    • Establish a foundation of commonly utilized and proven designs/programs that can be standardized and reused for increased efficiency.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and technical/professional experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical/controls/programming.
    • Background in corrugate production is highly desirable.
    • US Citizenship is mandatory for this role.
    • High proficiency in robotics programming, with a focus on FANUC and/or KUKA systems.
    • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical for design purposes.
    • In-depth knowledge of PLC, HMI, and robotic cell controls.
    • Strong design experience with the ability to create efficient and effective control programs.
    • CAD skills required, with preference for AutoCAD Electrical proficiency.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to the achievement of project goals.
