    Job Summary:

    The VDC Engineer II plays a crucial role in fulfilling virtual construction needs across various departments, including Preconstruction, Construction Operations, and Consulting/Litigation Support Services. As a power-user of Client's VDC software programs, the individual in this position is expected to be self-motivated, open-minded, and dedicated, demonstrating a willingness to tackle new challenges. This role is based in Woodland Hills, CA, with occasional travel to jobsites and partner offices, and the incumbent may also work from jobsites as required.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Develop and coordinate 3D object-oriented models.
    2. Create 5D visual simulations incorporating BIM+TIME+COST using Navisworks or Synchro.
    3. Perform clash detections.
    4. Perform 3D scanning using Trimble 3D scanner and Layout of work using Trimble Robotic Total Station.
    5. Process actual job cost, model-based quantity report, model-based quantity take-off, and actual schedule information back into the model for as-built project control, risk analysis, and historical reference.
    6. Create Formwork and concrete lift and placement drawings for horizontal and vertical control and general assembly drawings.
    7. Support Preconstruction and Business Development efforts by creating photorealistic imagery using Artlantis and other rendering engines.
    8. Perform project document management (RFIs, submittals, PCOs, NOC, etc.).
    9. Process raw 3D point cloud scan files in software suites such as Trimble REALWORKS, Scene, Rythm, or similar software and produce registered files.
    10. Produce as-built models based on the scan files using Trimble REALWORKS or similar software and/or TEKLA Structures.
    11. Convert and correct building model files or 3D scanned point clouds as needed to create rapid prototype 3D printable objects using Materialise Magics and Space Claim.
    12. Perform completeness and constructability reviews under supervision and issue and manage RFIs.

    Qualifications:

    1. Minimum Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction-related field or equivalent work experience.
    2. 3+ years in the building or design industry preferred, but not required.
    3. Understanding of VDC or BIM concepts.
    4. Exposure to and preliminary experience with some Building Information Model (BIM) systems (i.e., Autodesk Revit, Bentley, Vico Constructor, TEKLA, Synchro, Navisworks, Sketchup, and similar software suites) required.
    5. Excellent computer skills, including a high level of proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam.
    6. Strong personal management skills, dedication, organization, and open-mindedness required.
    7. Creative thinker with the ability to work in a close-knit environment.
    8. Other duties as may be assigned by supervisors.
