Please note: MUST Be a currently enrolled senior at CSU Stanislaus, University of the Pacific, or UC Merced pursuing a BA/BS degree or a current MJC Student completing an AA/AS degree (who is not pursuing a BA degree) in a related field of study like Business, Marketing, Communications, Management, or related. Must be a resident of Stanislaus County. Part time, not more than 29 hours per week.

OVERALL INTERNSHIP PURPOSE:

The Marketing and Sales/Social Media Intern is responsible for working with the Director of Sales in coordinating and executing the company's marketing, sales, and social media strategies.  The successful candidate will work closely with key members of our Team, and the company’s web site design firm and other service providers to enhance marketing/sales, social media, and digital communications in a business to business environment.

DUTIES:

• Learn about company’s products, services and industries served
• Assist in disseminating a consistent marketing message via social media outlets such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and other channels
• Assist in promoting our company message to employees through employee newsletters, Facebook and other venues
• Assist in creating other print/digital material
• Research effective avenues for email blasts such as Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, sales Force, etc.
• Assist with marketing outreach efforts to gain new clientele 
• Assist with creating and implementing new ways to outreach to the community
• Assist in writing blog content that highlights the company or our industry
• Assist with other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• A strong background in marketing and communications especially through social media channels
• Understanding of key social media tools including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, SnapChat,etc.) and with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• An entrepreneurial attitude with attention to detail and willingness to learn
• An ability to remain calm under pressure and a robust/resilient attitude towards challenges
• Experience with Marketing/Sales and/or Event Planning a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Proven written communication skills, and a passion for writing both short- and long-copy
• Excellent verbal communications skills
• Ability to have a flexible schedule
• Ability to work in a changing, team-oriented situation
• Strong desire to learn new things and accept new responsibilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and produce high-quality work in a timely manner
