Our drivers deliver LTL freight all over the state of Florida and spend nights and weekends at home. Stars Driver Development Program is designed to teach you the skills you need to succeed in a career that can last a lifetime. Through this program, you will gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of the developmental process of becoming a Star Distribution Driver become proficient in the operation of a tractor trailer. Responsibilities include non-driving duties such as forklift operation, working the dock and order selection. By the end of the program, participants will be converted into Star Distribution Drivers starting at $19.00/hour. Job Duties & Responsibilities: * Properly unload palletized freight to assure safety and minimal risk of damage to cargo and danger to people * Perform pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment * Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer * Verify documentation matches freight description (e.g. type, weight, hazardous materials) * Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope) * Assist the Delivery Driver in the safe and accurate delivery of freight to customers in a timely and efficient manner * Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures * Maintain effective communications with dispatchers * Perform other duties as required Requirements * Must possess a Class-A CDL * Must be at least 21 years of age * Must have a safe driving record * Must have a desire to advance to a Delivery Driver position once fully trained * Forklift experience preferred * Must be able to pass a background check, DOT drug test and physical (and have no prior positive tests or refusals) Job Type: Full-time Salary: $15.00 to $19.00 /hour Experience:
