POSITION SUMMARY:

Working from your home, the online English teacher will conduct K-12 instructions via the internet in provided e-classroom environment to one student or a small class of students interactively. We need English teachers who can teach advanced reading and writing skills for elementary and middles school students from international schools in China.

LOCATION AND HOURS:

Work remotely from home using Zoom or Classin to conduct live lessons, using email and DingTalk to maintain communication and complete daily tasks.

Start date: Immediate. Flexible schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teach with high energy level and ability to engage and motivate students in grade-level K-12.
• Teach with excellent presentation skills.
• Actively manage a classroom with several students (usually no more than 4).
• Enter e-classroom and start teaching on schedule and on time.
• Receive and respond to constructive feedback and participate in ongoing training and development sessions.
• Report individual student progress and need-to-improvement areas periodically.
• Respond to or escalate student-related issues as they arise.
• Partner with our service and academics support staff to ensure student needs are met.
• Review curriculum and execute lesson plans.
• Complete all grading in a timely manner.
• Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure that all students are successfully progressing through the online program.
• Keep student records and data up to date.
• Consult with other teachers and staff to develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications to increase student understanding.
• Attend staff meetings and required training sessions as required.
• Maintain working computers and home-based internet to meet online teaching requirements.
• Resolve normal computer and internet issues and learn new teaching tools efficiently.
• Communicate with other teachers and staff promptly to report and address issues and seek help.
• Report work hours and submit timesheet on time.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

• High level of professionalism and responsibility to students of all ages regardless of their gender, race, English level, and personality.
• Must be legal to work for a U.S. company, as qualification documents will be required when hired.
• Speaks English at an idiomatic level.
• A BA/BS college degree in education and/or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year teaching experience.
• Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google apps, and e-classroom software).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• High level of flexibility in availability to teach.
• Willing to attend ongoing training.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and frequent communications via the internet.
• Friendly, energetic, and willing to be part of a team.
• Computer Operating System (OS): Windows 10 or above, Mac OS 10.8 or above.
• High-speed home-based internet that meets teaching requirements.
• Video-making and editing skills preferred.
• Authors who have published books and papers are a big plus.
• Must have at least 10 hours available to teach between 5 am-9 am US Eastern Time every week.
• Must be able to stay on the job for at least 6 months.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

• $18--$25 USD/hour, depends on the position and experience.
• Part-time contractor position.

• Under the guidance of a Lead Teacher, you will be trained in all aspects of the job.
• Promotions and leadership roles available as soon as six months on the job.
