The Starbucks Shift Supervisor acts as the vital link between baristas and store management. They run scheduled shifts, lead the coffeehouse team, handle cash management, deploy partners, train new staff, and maintain high standards for customer service and store operations. Responsibilities: Shift Operations: Run daily store operations and manage "play-calling" (positioning baristas where needed) during high- and low-volume periods. Customer Connection: Model legendary service, anticipate store and customer needs, and resolve escalated customer complaints. Team Leadership: Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to baristas while assisting with new partner training. Administrative & Cash Handling: Manage cash drawers, count tills, handle safe drops, and execute opening or closing procedures securely. Standards Compliance: Maintain cleanliness, food safety, inventory control, and equipment standards. Qualifications: Experience: Prior customer service, cash handling, and leadership or supervisory experience in a retail or food-service environment. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to converse easily with the public and provide constructive coaching to team members. Composure: Ability to manage stress and keep a calm demeanor during unexpected rushes or unusual events. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and frequently bend, twist, and lift or carry up to 40 pounds. Compensation: $26 per hour plus tips
