Intervention Specialist Ass't Preschool
Job Description
Assists in planning and providing services and instruction to children.
Follows through on instructional plans as directed and reviews with IS to assure goals are being attained Communicates clearly and accurately Responds to students appropriately Provides care and supervision of students in both instructional and non-instructional areas/times Transports and supervises students on grounds and on community outings. Assists in daily curricular activities such as bus duty, lunch duty, field trips and/or other program activities.
Implements classroom management procedures, strategies and techniques
Assists in all areas of Daily Living Skills
Creates an environment of respect and rapport
Establishes an environment conducive for learning
Establishes and maintains clear and consistent standards of classroom behavior
Maintains physical space in a safe and suitable learning environmen
Under the direction of the instructor:
Assists in the implementation of the students instructional programs
Becomes familiar with each student’s instructional goals
Prepares materials and supplies

High School Diploma/GED
Required to enroll in and complete Childhood Development Associates Certification (CDA), or Associates in Early Childhood.
Eligible for ODE Educational aide certificate (Preschool and School only)
Experience in working in a classroom setting, with young children or youth in a Special Education setting
Experience in lifting and transferring of students is an essential part of this job.
Experience in assisting students with areas of daily living skills and educational programs under an IEP.
