Safety Management Specialist
Who You Are:
You are a Loss Control professional, who enjoys educating clients on the risks they face. You have an innate ability to connect with clients, assess their risks and develop and help implement risk control plans. You can develop and deliver loss control strategies to help clients reach their loss reduction goals. You are adept at assessing Commercial insurance risks over a wide variety of business exposures. You also are capable to reviewing loss history on existing accounts to identify trends in frequency and severity and reach conclusions based on your analysis. You are extremely well spoken, and can create written reports outlining your conclusions and recommendations for strategy changes. You are comfortable sharing those conclusions in a small group or presenting a formal presentation or training session to a large group. You have your OSHA certification.
You get to know your clients and what their needs are. You are comfortable communicating with clients via email and phone. This is a relationship business and you recognize and appreciate that. Your documentation is impeccable. You are motivated by hard work and doing what is right. Accuracy and attention to detail are strong points of yours. You are comfortable traveling 40-70% of the time, primarily throughout the New England states. You are proud of your work and doing what is best for your clients. Job Summary:
This position provides a thorough, professional level of hazard detection, risk evaluation, and improvement recommendations initially for underwriting purposes, but primarily focused on the benefit for the insured customer. Between 40% and 70% of the work performed is expected to be consulting service work for customers receiving ongoing safety management service. This will involve identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and hazards, and determining alternate methods of control that can be recommended to the customer. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
What you bring to the table:
Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or Risk Management
OSHA certification required
Expertise in Commercial Property and Casualty insurance coverage and risk evaluation techniques
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and operate in an ever changing environment is critical
Travel required throughout New England states, 40- 70% of your time
Must be able to build rapport and effective relationships with clients
Must be able to develop and present an effective technical training session to a group
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong attention to detail
Fluency in MS office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet research tools
Must have valid driver's license in good standing
