The Manager of Cloud Operations is responsible for cloud infrastructure, availability, and internal client satisfaction. The manager will play a key role in the direction of the cloud solutions, enabling development teams, and ensuring operational uptime of cloud-based software built by internal teams or third-parties.

You are responsible for system performance analysis, tuning and capacity planning efforts across the enterprise. You investigate, analyze and make recommendations regarding technology improvements, best practices, standardization, scaling, upgrades, and modifications to our infrastructure and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build, lead, develop and coach a team of engineers, and architects in support of cloud-based solutions.
• Oversee System Administration in a physical and virtual environment
• Create and maintain documentation of enterprise infrastructure topology and system configurations
• Provide input/recommendations regarding operating system and other software patches
• Monitor and optimize system performance taking both proactive and reactive measures to correct and prevent issues
• Serve as an escalation for internal support staff to resolve issues
• Coordinate with internal staff and schedule maintenance activities, including upgrades
• Invest time in identifying the talents, skills and knowledge of direct reports as well as create development plans that help them grow in each area
• Provide input into annual budgeting for the department and manage the business to that budget
• Clearly communicate processes, changes, incidents to both internal and external customers

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure
• 3+ years of experience with the AWS cloud technologies
• 2 + years of direct leadership experience. 
• Experience working in a continuous delivery environment.
• Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging trends.
• Experience managing and implementing Cloud architectures in a DevOps/Agile methodology
• 3+ years of experience in an IT support organization providing 24/7 coverage

• Extensive knowledge of traditional IT infrastructure and monitoring
