About the Role:

Candis Inc in Roanoke, VA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated State Licensed Medication Aide (SLMA) to join our caring team. Responsibilities:

Administer prescribed medications to residents accurately and in accordance with state regulations and facility policies

Document medication administration and report any changes in resident condition to nursing staff

Monitor residents for adverse reactions or side effects and escalate concerns promptly

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care as needed

Maintain accurate medication records and ensure proper medication storage and handling

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary care team members

Follow all infection control, safety, and compliance protocols within the facility

Requirements:

Valid Virginia State License as a Medication Aide (SLMA) required

Current CNA certification preferred or required per facility guidelines

Prior experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or residential care setting preferred

Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication administration accuracy

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a resident-centered approach

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a care team

Reliable, punctual, and able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
