  • Responsibilities

    The Universal Member Service Representative (MSR) & Teller position is a blended job that primarily covers branch staffing on an as-needed basis. The Universal employee is required to travel between temporary branch assignments at various locations performing MSR, Teller (II) and/or MS Receptionist duties. The Universal is required to meet sales production goals as defined by management.

    MSR – The Universal may perform MSR duties by providing a variety of transaction services to the membership including opening & closing accounts, loan processing, IRA’s, renewing certificate accounts and assisting members with bookkeeping and checking account problems in a prompt and courteous manner. An MSR is responsible for interviewing and evaluating applicant for loans and processing various loan applications. Gathers background information and analyses loan applicants’ credit history. May approve or deny a loan application based on analysis and following Lending Guidelines; operates within lending level authority.

    Teller II – The Universal may perform Teller duties of serving the membership by receiving and paying out funds with a high degree of accuracy in accordance with credit union policies and procedures and assists tellers with complex member transactions. The Universal mentors entry level Tellers.

    • Ability to build strong relationships with our members. • Ability to cross-sell appropriate Credit Union services and products. • Ability to attain sales goals as defined by management. • Maintain Loan Audit Ratio • Maintain Delinquency Ratio • Excellent oral and written skills. • Professional appearance and attitude. • Above average ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including 10-key and telephone. • Solid math and bookkeeping abilities. • Ability to analyze and determine opportunities to cross-sell products and services or offer solutions to members. • Ability to gain and demonstrate sound lending functions. • Must be able to demonstrate established competency levels for all required regulatory or compliance-related processes and/or procedures within established timeframes of appointment. • Ability to work in an environment of flexible and changing work schedules.

    Required Experience

    • One (1) year retail performance based sales experience (direct member contact w/goal objectives; preferably in a financial institution. AND • One (1) year Teller experience. Preferable One (1) year Teller II FLFCU experience.
